Engine Control Systems (“ECS”) is a developer and manufacturer of custom-built, technology-based emission control products used in original equipment, aftermarket and retrofit applications. ECS was owned by private equity group CapitalWorks and has locations in the United States, Canada and Sweden.

CapitalWorks was approached by a strategic buyer that expressed a strong interest in acquiring ECS. CapitalWorks hired Grace Matthews to advise them on the sale process.

Grace Matthews successfully negotiated the sale of ECS to Catalytic Solutions, an advanced materials company focused on emission controls, at a strategic valuation based on the strong, synergistic fit between the companies.
