Grace Matthews advises Crown Carbon Technologies on its sale to Colonial Group, Inc.

MILWAUKEE (November 2, 2022) – Crown Carbon Reduction Technologies (“Crown”), a value-added specialty chemicals service provider and portfolio company of Merit Capital Partners has been acquired by Colonial Group, Inc. (“Colonial”). Grace Matthews advised Crown and Merit Capital Partners on the transaction.

Founded in 1989 and based in Gillette, Wyoming, Crown is a leading provider of turn-key chemical solutions, including dust control, freeze conditioning, road stabilization, and water treatment, that improve the efficiency and sustainability of the mining and energy industries. Crown’s technologies help companies in the mining, exploration, and production industries to reduce scope emissions, comply with industry regulations, and improve their overall carbon footprint and social presence. Crown has also invested in the commercialization of fuel catalyst products, an offering that has demonstrated dramatic efficiencies in diesel fuel consumption and has expanded Crown’s reach to new end markets.
