Grace Matthews’ culture - collaborative and professional - fits well with most private equity funds.
While private equity funds’ stated objectives are quite straightforward – maximize returns for their limited partners – the strategy, subsequent execution, and ultimate exit, are what make or break an investment.
As a boutique, with limited deal flow, we never assume that “it is our turn” to get an engagement. We treat each pitch as an opportunity to win on merit – our unmatched industry network and track record maximize a PE fund’s chances of an outlier outcome.
Often, Grace Matthews begins work with a private equity fund’s portfolio company shortly after the platform is acquired, with a stated goal of helping to engineer a high value sale to a strategic, synergistic buyer. We deal with large strategics daily, and know how they view acquisitions. By advising throughout the build and hold period, we are well prepared to advise on the how and when of a sale.
Finally, we get along exceptionally well with management. Because we are not traditional “suits,” and tend to dig in to operational aspects of the business, trust develops easily.
